Amreuke Maine-Anjou Stud was formed in 1991 when we purchased a
pure
Maine - Anjou bull for cross breeding with our mixed herd of dairy cross
cows.
After the first year we were so impressed with the calves that we purchased
some
pure and full blood Maine-Anjou cows as well. We have since introduced black
genetics from Canada and the USA.
The Maine-Anjou's have proved
their adaptability in the cold conditions in the
hills behind Gormandale and then on the dry flats at Flynns Creek
to the present day
family dairy farm at Tinamba.
We now have a herd of low
maintenance, highly functional and docile females with
excellent
maternal traits and ease of calving. the Maine-Anjou's have introduced
excellent muscling and weight
gain, bringing higher profits at sale's time when
it
counts.
At the Royal Melbourne Show in
2000 Amreuke Maine-Anjou stud won the first
weeks Interbreed with Amreuke Outa Control
at 22 months old, he was the
first Maine-Anjou to win an Interbreed at
Melbourne.
